2025 Continuous Furnace & Brazing Symposium Wrap-Up: Innovation, Insights & Industry Connection in Niagara Falls

The 2025 Continuous Furnace & Brazing Symposium, hosted by Abbott Furnace Company, took place May 13–15 in beautiful Niagara Falls, NY, and brought together brazing professionals, engineers, product designers, and maintenance experts from across the U.S. and beyond.

Over the course of two and a half action-packed days, attendees participated in a series of technical presentations, peer-to-peer networking sessions, and expert-led discussions focused on advancing brazing processes for carbon steel, stainless steel, brass, and aluminum.

What We Covered

Key topics included:

  • Furnace Brazing Techniques & Optimization
  • Sinter Brazing Fundamentals
  • Joint Design & Filler Metals
  • Aluminum Brazing & Flux Application
  • Atmosphere Control Practices
  • CQI-29 Process Assessments
  • Wire Mesh Belt Management
  • Safety Protocols & Troubleshooting Tips

One of the standout sessions was delivered by Dr. Steve Feldbauer, Ph.D., Co-Chairman of the event and Head of R&D at Abbott Furnace. His in-depth breakdown of the AIAG CQI-29 Brazing Special Process Assessment offered practical insight for companies looking to improve quality, consistency, and compliance.

Continuing Education Opportunities

In partnership with Penn State DuBois, participants had the opportunity to earn 1.5 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) — making this symposium not only valuable for networking and hands-on learning, but also for professional development and credentialing.

From the Attendees:

Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive:

“The mix of technical depth and real-world application made this the best brazing training I’ve attended.”

“It was great to collaborate with others facing the same challenges and walk away with solutions we can implement immediately.”

Looking Ahead

We are incredibly grateful to all who attended, presented, and helped organize this year’s event. The 2025 Symposium demonstrated that when professionals come together to share ideas and expertise, the entire industry moves forward.

Stay tuned for updates on future training sessions, webinars, and the 2026 Symposium. Until then, be sure to follow Abbott Furnace Company for the latest in thermal processing innovation, custom furnace design, and brazing solutions.
