furnace technician
We currently have an opening for a multifaceted Furnace Technician. This role is ideal for a mechanically inclined professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys working across fabrication, assembly, installation, and service of industrial thermal processing equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, and service industrial furnaces and related thermal processing equipment
- Perform mechanical, electrical, and refractory work during builds and field installations
- Troubleshoot and repair furnaces, burners, controls, and auxiliary systems
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Assist with furnace start-ups, testing, and commissioning at customer sites
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections to ensure safe and efficient operation
- Collaborate with engineering, fabrication, and project teams to meet customer specifications
- Travel to customer locations as needed for installations and service calls
- Communicate effectively and professionally with customers to keep them informed of progress, issues, and completion status
Requirements:
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in industrial equipment or furnace systems
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, controls, burners, and gas systems (preferred)
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex mechanical and electrical issues
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and industrial shop equipment
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
- Extensive travel to customer facilities located in North America is required
- This position requires extensive amounts of walking, standing, heavy lifting and other physical activities
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and work in confined or elevated spaces as required
- Welding, refractory, or PLC experience is a plus but not required
- Clean driving record
