A Review of Lubricant Removal Systems and the Latest Technology
Monday, June 24
9:55 AM – 10:20 AM
Stephen Feldbauer, Ph.D.
Whether a component is produced through binder-jet additive manufacturing, metal injection molding, or conventional press and sinter component, lubricant removal continues to be one of the most common issues in the sintering. As with all technologies, the forming techniques have resulted in the development of new lubricants. The result is the need for even more understanding and process development in lubricant removal. A review of the “old rules of thumb”, current solutions, and where the lubricant technology is headed will help to lay out a roadmap for dealing with this issue today and into the future.
Sensors Related to Sintering
Wednesday, June 26
8:00 AM – 8:25 AM
Dustin Yetzer
With today’s challenging part and process standards they often require data collection of process parameters. It is important to be able to understand what sensors are available to gather this data. We will review sensors to measure sintering atmosphere such as dewpoint and oxygen. We will also look into sensors that measure flow, pressure, temperature, gas composition and current/voltage as they relate to sintering.
I Have Data! Now What?
Wednesday, June 26
9:55 AM – 10:20 AM
Jeff Chileski
A typical data collection system collects from a dozen to several hundred different variables. The problem becomes data overload. How to use this data to make your life better? In this discussion, we review the application of this data to issues such as CQI9 compliance, preventative maintenance, and event management.
